Lush Life

The other day I got to spend some rare time with my sister in law. She told me about her latest obsession LUSH cosmetic products. She raved about their Dark Angel Face cleanser and how great it was at oil control. I was intrigued so I came home and looked them up. They had a bunch of products that I was interested in, so I decided to go check them out today. Well almost $130 later I walked out with 12 new beauty products to try. That's about $10 per product. Most things I bought cost much less then that but the moisturizer I bought was $36 and the skin mask was $12. Yes, its a little on the pricey side but everything is fresh and hand made. Everything is "100% vegetarian 74% vegan*, 66% unpreserved*, 70% unpackaged* *Figures subject to alteration due to product availability" as per the store rep and their facebook page.  Over the next few days/weeks I will review the products I bought.

Body Products
Soft Coeur Massage Bar- A honey toffee scented solid body lotion $9
Glitterbug Massage Bar- A rose citrus vanilla glittery scented solid body lotion $7
Massage Bar Tin- I got a tin to keep the highly melt-able massage bars in for free since I purchased two.

So far I have used the Glitterbug Massage Bar and unfortunately if I lived closer to the mall I purchased it at I would be taking it back tomorrow! The scent of this bar is wonderful and it one of the reason I purchased it to begin with. The deal with the massage bars are that they melt at body temperature. So as you rub them on your body they shea and coco butter melt and turn into a lotion.  I liked the idea that it would give me some shimmer. When I first started rubbing this on my arms it felt like sandpaper!! Then as it started to melt it glided nicely across my arms and legs. I didn't notice any shimmer at first so I applied a little more and then set out to leave the house. Well once I got into the sunlight I looked like a fairy and thrown up on me (well that or a stripper as my husband said).  I mean from neck to toes I was doused in iridescent purple/blue glitter. It was way too much and pretty embarrassing. When I got to the restaurant we were going to that evening I ran to the bathroom and proceed to scrub my arms with soap and water trying to lessen the effect. I got a lot of but it was still very noticeable. This was not what I was expecting at all. My husband made me promise that I will never use it again. I may see if one of my friends who has girls that cheerleads may be interested in it and give it to them before I just toss it.

Next on my list to try is the Black Angel Cleanser, Mask, Toner and Moisturizer. I will probably use the cleanser, toner, and moisturizer a few times before I write a review for them. Nite!
