Tick Tick Boom

I have been enjoying my LUSH products (other then the glitter fiasco). So far I have used the Black Angel facial scrub, Tea Tree Water Toner, Vanishing Cream Moisturizer, Mask of Magnaminty and now the Twilight.

Today I will review Twilight. Twilight is one of LUSHs new bath bombs. It has two layers. The first layer is a slow releasing foaming layer. The second layer is a fast acting fizzer. I loved the scent of the bomb in the store and I liked that it is one of their longer lasting bombs. Right before I was about to put it in the bath I dropped it!!
The damaged Twilight Bomb!
The outer layer cracked! Boo!! It didn't last as long as I expected to because the inner layer was exposed to water sooner then it should have been.
The pink foaming action.

I couldn't get a picture of the inner blue fizzy part because I was using my cell and couldn't keep the bomb from flipping over before I could take the picture. The amount of the foam in the above picture is a little less then what was produced after the whole bomb dispersed. When I got into the tub I turned out the lights to enjoy a nice candle little bath forgetting that I wanted to take more pictures LOL. I decided to turn on the bathtub jets to see if I could turn the foam from the bath bomb into a bubble bath.
The jets + bomb = a ton of luscious bubbles
This bomb made the bath feel so soft. It was amazing. I really liked this product and then I got out of the tub.... As I dried off I noticed MORE FREAKING GLITTER!!! WTH?! It was no wear near as bad as the glitter bug incident. It actually put just enough glitter on me. I did really enjoy the product so I wont say the glitter will keep me from buying it. I only take a bath before I go to bed and then I shower again in the am so it really isn't an issue.
See the irridecent ring around the tub? That would be the secret glitter in the bomb.

The other brown spots in the tub are from the face mask I washed off in the tub while I was in there. The good news is the glitter and left over mask bits rinsed away with just plain water. Next time I will review the facial products as a whole.

Lush Life

The other day I got to spend some rare time with my sister in law. She told me about her latest obsession LUSH cosmetic products. She raved about their Dark Angel Face cleanser and how great it was at oil control. I was intrigued so I came home and looked them up. They had a bunch of products that I was interested in, so I decided to go check them out today. Well almost $130 later I walked out with 12 new beauty products to try. That's about $10 per product. Most things I bought cost much less then that but the moisturizer I bought was $36 and the skin mask was $12. Yes, its a little on the pricey side but everything is fresh and hand made. Everything is "100% vegetarian 74% vegan*, 66% unpreserved*, 70% unpackaged* *Figures subject to alteration due to product availability" as per the store rep and their facebook page.  Over the next few days/weeks I will review the products I bought.

Face Products
Mask of Magnaminty- A minty face/body mask $12
Dark Angels- A charcoal based facial cleanser $11
Tea Tree Toner Tab- A steam facial and toner in one $2 per tab
Tea Tree Water Toner Spray- Tea tree, grapefruit and juniper berry are used for oil control $9
Enzymion Moisturizer- Oily skin needs a moisturizer too $37

Bath Products
Waving Not Drowning- A calming lavender scented bath bomb $5
Ickle Baby Bot- Another lavender based bath bomb geared towards kids $4
Twilight Bath Bomb- This is a new foaming bath bomb. It has a foaming outer laying and a fizzy inner layer. $5
The Comforter Bubble Bar- Blackcurrant scented bar that you crumble under running water and creates a rich moisturizing bubble bath $10
Too Drunk....- This is a shower fizzer claiming to be a hangover cure $4

Body Products
Soft Coeur Massage Bar- A honey toffee scented solid body lotion $9
Glitterbug Massage Bar- A rose citrus vanilla glittery scented solid body lotion $7
Massage Bar Tin- I got a tin to keep the highly melt-able massage bars in for free since I purchased two.

So far I have used the Glitterbug Massage Bar and unfortunately if I lived closer to the mall I purchased it at I would be taking it back tomorrow! The scent of this bar is wonderful and it one of the reason I purchased it to begin with. The deal with the massage bars are that they melt at body temperature. So as you rub them on your body they shea and coco butter melt and turn into a lotion.  I liked the idea that it would give me some shimmer. When I first started rubbing this on my arms it felt like sandpaper!! Then as it started to melt it glided nicely across my arms and legs. I didn't notice any shimmer at first so I applied a little more and then set out to leave the house. Well once I got into the sunlight I looked like a fairy and thrown up on me (well that or a stripper as my husband said).  I mean from neck to toes I was doused in iridescent purple/blue glitter. It was way too much and pretty embarrassing. When I got to the restaurant we were going to that evening I ran to the bathroom and proceed to scrub my arms with soap and water trying to lessen the effect. I got a lot of but it was still very noticeable. This was not what I was expecting at all. My husband made me promise that I will never use it again. I may see if one of my friends who has girls that cheerleads may be interested in it and give it to them before I just toss it.

Next on my list to try is the Black Angel Cleanser, Mask, Toner and Moisturizer. I will probably use the cleanser, toner, and moisturizer a few times before I write a review for them. Nite!

Outfit for Anna's Rehersal Dinner

I have been struggling to find something to wear to Anna and Dan's rehearsal dinner. The dinner is a dinner cruise down the Hudson River leaving from West Point. Anna said the dress code was smart casual. Below I posted reviews on two things I just purchased from www.maurices.com.

Here is what the outfit looks like on me. Please excuse the wrinkles in the dress, my hair, and miscellaneous cat paraphernalia int he background LOL.

I ordered these to wear with the Ruffle Shirt dress. I am in love! I have a hard time finding shoes to fit. I typically wear a size 9.5 to 10 wide width. I also have very muscular calves and a hard time finding boots that fit. These fit me perfectly!!! If you have a narrow foot you may find this shoe too wide.

Fit: Feels too big

Waist: Feels true to size

Length: Feels true to length

Pros: Easy Care, Nice Color, Figure Flattering

Cons: Wrinkles Easily

Best Uses: Wear to School, Wear To Work, Casual Wear, Date Night/Night Out

Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser

Comfort vs Style: Comfort Driven

This dress it the perfect fall dress for me. I needed something to wear to a wedding rehearsal dinner that wasn't too dressy but not causal either. I was nervous b/c this was the first time I ordered from this website and didnt know how the sizing would run. I did my measurements and it suggested I order a size larger then I normally order. I placed my order and then later on realized that I messed up an ordered my normal size. I got it today and it fits fine! Had I ordered it a size larger it would have been way too big.
I am going to pair it with a long brown cardigan, brown leggings and I ordered the slouch boots. Which I also LOVE! I will definitely order from this website again.

Beach Time!

In about 15 hrs we will be on our way to the beach!! I am so freaking excited!! This is the first time I have been away in 11 months. Holy crap! No wonder I am so anxious to go away. We were on a roll for a while of going away every 6 months. We will be down there until Sunday. Then we are going down the last full week in July. I don't love OC, MD as much as the OBX , but I can't get Brian to try the OBX.

Its going to be a busy week down the ocean. It is the Flock and Rock weekend, which is a Raven's convention. There is an Air Show, and a car show. It is also the beginning of Senior week!!! UGH. I hope its not that bad.
